Before entering cancer Biology, my perception of cancer was skewed. I was only familiar with the destruction, the heartache and the pain that cancer caused. I joined the class looking for more insight as to how cancer progressed and why it was so hard to target and treat. Throughout the course, I realized how interesting cancer was, I mean the fact that Cancer Cells have the ability to avoid all regulatory mechanisms and yet supply its own survival. It seemed obvious that cancer cells are in a league of their own. Just like every one human, we are all different (unique) yet we all grow due to our own effort. This portfolio entails self notes that I believed were paralleled to that of a cancer cell and the way cancer is initiated.
