CELL CYCLE
MITOSIS
Mitosis has four main stages:
Prophase - chromatin fibers become tightly coils and condenses into discrete chromosomes
Metaphase - chromosomes convene, lining their centromeres on the metaphase plate.
Anaphase - begins when the two sister chromatids of each pair suddenly part and become a chromosome
Telophase - The chromosomes become less condensed, here the cell organizes and compresses the chromosomes in such a way that they can be divided equally
Cytokinesis – The last step, here the cell splits into the two new cells.
